Welcome to InEight Progress. In this video, you'll learn how to add details to work hours on a time sheet, including equipment linking, premiums, billing class and rate codes, and work orders.
These options are a great way to build in more detail to your daily planning and payroll tracking. Note, these options are enabled for projects which use reason codes.
To get started, open a daily plan and click on the Time Sheet tab. Click [the hours tile] to manage hours for the employee. Add work hours. Now the additional options are available.
Let's start with employee-equipment linking. You can track which employees are assigned to operate different pieces of equipment in your daily plan.
To assign a worker to an equipment resource, first make sure to select a reason code for equipment. Click the [Equipment] icon and select the equipment the employee will operate, then click Done.
The assigned hours will appear with that piece of equipment. Notice the color-coded bar indicating which employee is assigned to the equipment.
Next, let's look at premium rates. If a crew member works outside their normal duties or conditions, a premium can be awarded to increase their pay rate for those hours.
Premiums must be enabled under your organization and project settings, and configured in the Master Data Libraries.
To add a premium rate, click the [Premium] icon and select the appropriate premium. Then click Done. Now the premium rate will be applied to those hours.
Your organization may need to track additional project cost details based on your billing or payroll needs. You can assign billing classes and rate codes from your plan. Billing class and rate codes are enabled in organization and project settings, and configured in project settings.
If your employees have already been assigned a default billing class, this will automatically apply to their work hours. Click on the Employee Resource tile to override their default billing class for this day's work.
To assign a billing class at the hourly level, click [the Billing Class icon]. To assign a rate code, click [the Rate Code icon]. These details will be assigned specifically to these work hours.
If you have an employee completing operational maintenance tasks, you can also track their hours against operational work orders.
To input a work order, click [the Work Order field]. Type the name of the work order and click Done. The work order details will now be tracked with this daily plan.
You can also use this field to associate a work package with these work hours.
Note, your time tracking information can be edited in any phase of daily planning, and you can view and edit these details in Time Center. Any new changes to the daily plan details will update in Time Center when the daily plan is graduated to a new status.
Now you've learned how to add details to work hours on a daily plan. Thanks for watching.
