Video - InEight Control - Actuals by Manual Entry

TRANSCRIPT

This video demonstrates how to manually enter actuals into InEight Control.

During project execution for some of your items,

you may want to claim quantities and man hours in InEight Control instead of

out in the field. For example,

you may have indirect costs such as staffing and other job overheads

that you prefer to claim in the office,

or perhaps you have subcontracted work items that you track in the office

rather than in the field. For this example,

we'll claim bolted connections in control since we've subcontracted that work to

a specialty contractor. For items you claim in control,

you first need to hide them from showing up in InEight plan and progress

on the task details data block. Click here to view the third panel

in the Hide in Plan and Progress column. Check the box for bolted connections.

If you don't check this box,

you won't be able to claim quantities against the cost item in InEight control.

Let's assume you are monitoring your subcontractor's progress for the bolted

connections,

and you've asked them to report their actual man hours along with the quantities

completed to record what they have reported.

Make sure you're on the progress view set where you can input actuals

On the actuals data block.

Right Click on the Vaulted Connection Row and select actuals details.

You can also open the slide out panel by double clicking in any of the actual

quantities, hours, or cost related fields.

With the quantities tab selected.

Enter a quantity number into the claimed quantity field.

Leave the posted date as the default of today's date,

and in the notes field, enter details about the work.

Click here to move to the man hours tab.

Enter the number of hours worked in the number of hours filled.

If you are tracking man hours for a specific employee,

you can fill in the employee's name and employee number.

You can add additional man hours for other employees by clicking here.

Click here to move to the cost tab.

Enter a cost into the claimed cost field.

You need to indicate a cost category for any of the amounts entered.

Click here to open the cost category dropdown.

Select an appropriate cost category and click the select button.

Click apply to save your entry.

All details entered have now been saved.

You now have actual quantities tracked for bolted connections and total costs

today, along with actual man hours. As the work progresses,

you can review the history of the entries that have come in,

either from import or those manually claimed in Control.

To view the actual's history,

right click on an item and select actual's details.

Click on the actual's history tab to view all claiming history for the item

posted by date,

along with the viewing of quantity cost in man hours and equipment hours.

For each posting,

you can click on a posting date to view additional details about the claim,

including who made the claim. Well,

that's an overview of how to manually enter actuals into InEight Control.

Thanks for watching.
