TRANSCRIPT
In this video,
you'll learn how to use the detailed ETC Forecast Method to forecast
remaining resources needed to complete a particular project during a job.
This additional information gives the project team greater visibility on how a
project is progressing and the necessary resources to complete the remaining
scope of work. Let's start with clicking on the CBS tab.
Begin by assessing the breakdown of current resources and what cost items are
needed to complete the project.
Right click on the cost item to forecast and select cost item details from the
dropdown menu. A new window opens the cost item details,
outlines the necessary information needed to understand each cost item in
detail.
Let's focus on the current estimate resources and forecast resources tabs.
On current estimate resources, we see the cost item details,
current estimate resources, productivity,
and overall settings and resource details.
In contrast,
the forecast resources tab illustrates forecast details, resources,
productivity, and overall settings and resource details. From the dropdown menu,
we can select the detailed E T C forecast method.
This method must be selected to enable the functionality.
To apply the resources for forecasting job completion,
select the resource panel and expand the view to see the table of information
containing the resources notice the tab automatically populates with the current
estimated resources.
Now with remaining quantity and remaining work hours columns,
which dictate the remaining work or quantities currently needed to complete the
project,
you can add or remove resources for the remaining work as needed.
You can adjust remaining hours under productivity and overall settings.
This will adjust values for forecast remaining costs.
You'll notice the forecast details updated based on the changes made.
Well, that covers the new forecast method for detailed E T C.
