TRANSCRIPT

In this video, you'll learn how to import forecast values, create a forecast,

and share a copy of your forecast with others. During a job,

you can import forecast values from a spreadsheet to save time and quickly

upload these values directly into control.

Let's start by clicking on the CBS tab to move to the main page. Next,

select the import icon and then select cost items.

The import CBS data window opens,

which allows you to upload Excel or CSV files.

Depending on the size of your project,

you may have multiple people involved in forecasting your project tasks.

Perhaps you're a field engineer in charge of the structural steel portion of the

project.

Let's say you've updated your forecast for your items and you'd like to save

your changes as a new forecast file. To save the forecast that you

just changed,

click on the dropdown arrow on the forecast data block title bar and select save

as. In the forecast name, field type structure, steel forecast.

Make sure the sharing field says private forecast. Then click save.

Note that only you will see the changes you make to the forecast unless you send

it to someone else. Now that you've created and saved your forecast,

your manager asks you to send it to him so he can review it and update the live

forecast accordingly. So to send the forecast,

click on the dropdown arrow in the center of the forecast data block title bar

and select Send a copy, begin typing in the name of the person to send it to,

then select it.

Note that you can send your forecast to multiple users by searching for and

selecting them as needed. Click send to send him your forecast.

A toast message appears letting you know it was sent successfully.

As the receiver of the forecast file,

you'll receive a notification under your profile.

Clicking on it takes you to the notifications page where you can see the details

of the notification. In this case,

telling you that a new forecast file's been sent to you Can compare

two forecasts by inserting the forecast delta data block into your view if

necessary. In this case, it's already in the forecast view.

Select the two forecast to compare from the data block title bar.

In this case,

let's say we want to compare the structure steel forecast that was sent to you

to the live forecast.

The forecast values now display the difference between the two forecasts.

The values in red indicate that the live forecast is less than the structure

steel forecast that was sent to you.

And the items in green indicate the live forecast predicts more than the

structural steel forecast. In the push to live forecast video,

you'll learn how to select items from a forecast file and push them into the

official live forecast that's used for the project. Well,

that covers the basics of managing your forecast.
