Video - InEight Control - Forecast Notes
TRANSCRIPT
Welcome to InEight Control.
The C B S tab in InEight Control has two columns to see the latest
forecast notes for your cost items,
the latest forecast notes column and the forecast notes column
provide an audit trail for all the forecast note changes for a cost
item and their associated values.
Let's start with the column for latest forecast notes.
This column lets you see the most recent forecast note without having to click
on a cost item to view the slide out note.
You can copy and paste notes directly into the grid for communicating
effectively.
In the forecast notes field you can capture information using the slide out
panel.
When a note is created InEight Control takes a snapshot of the current forecast
values including the date, time, and the author of the note,
so an audit trail is created.
All forecast notes are preserved with their associated values.
This provides the ability to see changes in the forecast over time and to
track scope, cost, or other changes.
You can also use Excel Import Wizard to import forecast notes in bulk
to save time. First,
make sure you have the Excel spreadsheet to upload.
Upload your file.
For the cost items matching criteria select C B S position code,
and select next.
Your first need to map the C B S position code column.
To bring in your forecast notes map the forecast notes column to the
corresponding column in your spreadsheet.
Once you've mapped the columns to import, click Next.
Looks like we don't have any errors, so we'll click next again.
Great. Our forecast notes imported successfully.
You may then decide to make it mandatory for users to input notes when
they enter a manual forecast.
So they must justify why they entered a forecast manually instead of using
a system provided one.
To make manual forecast notes mandatory,
go to project settings,
control forecast,
and turn on the option here. Then click save.
Now back in InEight control. When you make a manual forecast change,
a prompt appears requiring you to enter a forecast note to capture what special
considerations were used to determine the forecast amount.
Well, that covers using forecast notes. Thanks for watching.
