Video - InEight Control - Forecasting Overview

TRANSCRIPT

Within Ineight Control, you can forecast where the costs and man hours end up at completion for your cost items, either by using built-in forecasting methods or by entering in final forecast values manually based on your own measurements. On the CBS tab of the control workspaces page, you can use the forecast default view set to view the default forecast data block, which contains basic forecasting information for your cost items, including forecast final cost, man hours, and productivity, forecasts remaining costs, man hours, and productivity, forecasts method, and other forecasting measurements, such as your gain loss when comparing your forecast values to your budget.

The control application allows you to create multiple private forecasts as needed for a single project, giving you the flexibility to try out different forecasting methods and what-if scenarios for your items. You can access your forecasts by clicking the folder icon, where you can load the appropriate forecast from the list of forecasts you've created or that other members have shared with you. Click anywhere on the forecast data block title or the dropdown arrow to perform forecast-related functions, such as doing a Save As to make a new copy of the forecast with a different title, renaming the existing forecast, sending the forecast to another member, or deleting the forecast.

From the View menu, select the Live Forecast View Set. In Control, the live forecast is the official project forecast use for finance reporting. And all members of the project can access the live forecasts automatically.

With the right permissions, you can push forecast data from other forecasts to the live forecast to keep it up to date. As shown here, the live forecast is managed using its own data block.
