Video - InEight Control - Manual Snapshots
TRANSCRIPT
Welcome to InEight Control.
This video guides you through the process of taking manual snapshots.
Any control takes automatic read only snapshots of data values at the end of each month based on your fiscal calendar settings. However, as the project progresses, project managers may want more control and flexibility to track past data and forecasts, budgets, and revenue whenever they need through a snapshot.
By taking manual snapshots, you can capture project data in the CBS and pay items registers.
To enable manual snapshots, go with settings.
To capture snapshots, The enable manual snapshots option must be turned on. Once enabled, a snapshot can be taken at any point in time.
When this option labeled allow syncs to replace manual snapshots is turned on, and manual snapshot will be replaced when the push to live for cast sync is initiated. It will also be replaced when the Push revenue forecast sync is initiated.
When turned off, the live forecast sync or revenue forecast sync will not replace the manual forecast. Let's take a live snapshot.
Let's say your fiscal reporting cycle does not align with the end of the month, so you would like to take a snapshot to catch current values in the meantime.
Select the take live snapshot option from the current live forecast drop down menu to capture current values in the live forecast. Current budget, and current estimate.
This can only be done by a user with the necessary permissions Once a live snapshot is taken, it moves into the draft view, where you can view by selecting it from the current live forecast drop down menu.
This lets you know that the draft snapshot is not yet finalized for the current month. From this snapshot view, you can see what values are in the aging phase before being committed at the closure of month end plus days.
The same snapshot functionality also exists in pay item. With the exact same option to take manual snapshots.
Note that if you've already taken snapshot previously. You'll receive this prompt confirming if you want to override.
In this case, we'll click yes.
Well, that covers how to use manual snapshots in InEight control. Thanks for watching.
