In this video, you'll learn how to organize your pay items into logical groups using a hierarchical structure.
During a job, you may need to cluster pay items using a parent child structure to provide easier identification of information.
The process of grouping pay items allows you to group scopes of work and see subtotals.
Let's start with reviewing how to use the pay item hierarchy, and we'll start with a flat list of pay items.
Notice that there's a move to icon you click on to modify the current structure.
A drop down menu lists selections on where you wanna move the item You'll need to select the hierarchy for a child or sibling at the top of the screen.
And then note that depending on our selection, your subordinate pay items will roll up the current price and revenue always rolls up.
Also note that you can't assign cost items to parent pay items.
You also can't include parent items in contract adjustments.
It's recommended to add columns such as pay item position and terminal column to easily identify pay item type.
