Video - InEight Control - Primavera schedule import integration
TRANSCRIPT
Welcome to InEight Control.
This video demonstrates how to import a Primavera XER file into
Control.
The XER import functionality allows you to integrate critical milestones and schedule dates, baseline and current into planning activities in the InEight cloud platform.
Projects need the ability to push new cost items over to Primavera as new activities, as well as pull new activities into control as new cost items.
To change the scheduled data source to an XER file first, click here.
Then settings, control
schedule.
From the scheduled data source dropdown, select the XER file type.
You have the option here of making sure that your schedule IDs are similar
across your baseline and current schedule, under percent complete.
You can update XER with physical percent complete from control or update
control with percent complete from XER
Under the update XER activities dropdown,
you can update x e r with tags and user-defined fields from control.
Click here to save any changes.
There are a few prerequisites to perform prior to performing a primavera import.
The first is to ensure the XER file type has been selected as the scheduled
data source.
Second on the C B S tab in the scheduled data block,
the schedule column must be checked prior to importing the schedule. Third,
make sure the schedule ID and control matches the activity ID within the XER
file. To import a Primavera schedule,
click import and select Schedule
A warning message appears asking if the extra activity IDs and control IDs
match. Click yes if both IDs match.
Now click the browse or drag and drop the X E R file generated by
Primavera.
In options,
select either baseline schedule or current schedule for the desired scheduled
type to be imported. Then click next
and click import. After reviewing the schedule summary,
the importing data process screen displays the current status for each step of
the XER data import.
You can also navigate to the audit log import history to view the import status,
which includes the total line items imported if there are corrections to be made. Once completed, you can select import to re-import the data, check the schedule block for the newly imported scheduled dates.
This is a quick audit to make sure the desired Primavera dates imported
successfully into control. Well, that's a quick overview on how to import a Primavera XER file into control.
Thanks for watching.
