Video - InEight Control - Required Cost Items

Welcome to an InEight Control.

In this video, we'll show you how to configure common cost items that often repeat on projects.

You can standardize the most used cost item at an organization level and add them to a project.

As an organization administrator with the right access, go to your organization settings and select Control.

Click on the others tab.

Here, you can add standard cost items commonly used from project to project.

To add a new cost item, select the plus icon.

A new window opens, add a description, WBS phase code, and unit of measurement all of which are mandatory field.

You can use letters or numbers for WBS phase code.

Note that you'll need to create a unique WBS phase code, or you'll receive an error asking for a unique value.

Once you've finished, click save.

You now have a standard cost item available to use within projects.

Let's jump over to a project where, as a project engineer, we're setting up our project in innate control.

As part of our setup procedure, we'll need to add our standard required cost items.

From the control workspaces, CBS tab, select the actions, drop down menu, and select add required cost items.

The required cost items list shows the standard cost items, the admin input at the organization level.

Note, that the columns are not editable when adding to a particular project.

The next step is to map your required cost items to the correct location in your c b s. From the drop down menu on the update type column, We'll define if the required cost item should be new or mapped to an existing cost item Make sure to click on the word child or sibling, as clicking on the icon won't do anything.

Once everything's selected, click save.

We'll now see the required cost items added to the project cost breakdown structure.
