In this video, you'll learn how to set up a smart URL on your cost items.

During a job, you can share your external reference items specific to a cost item by creating a custom URL.

You can create up to eight dynamic URL link for your project, five links for the project level, and three for the organization.

Let's start with accessing your project settings.

Next, select the tab labeled custom list.

Notice that this is a page where you'll configure your custom URLs.

Click on the URL in the field values column.

URL builder window pops up.

Make the necessary changes in the editable text box by copying and paste in your link.

Note that you can highlight particular text in the link to highlight and reference. Click the icon to preserve the name you're referencing and then click save Back on the CBS projects page, you can add your customized URL to a data block to view.

Drag and drop the customized links you created.

You can test your links to make sure they work once you move them into the data block to And you can create different links to navigate to multiple reference points. The links are versatile for accessing different contents, including external reports.

You'll need to access the URL builder using the organization settings.

You can also add them as columns to data blocks.

Next, select the tab labeled custom lists.

In addition to the five dynamic URL columns, there are organizational levels yes, URL columns labeled six, seven, and eight. The organizational URL links save you time by creating global links without having to add links to every project Click on the URL in the field values column, a URL builder window pops up. Creating CBS URL links at the organization level lets you associate shared documentation and reports across the organization.
