Video - InEight Control - Unique Budget Codes

TRANSCRIPT

Welcome to InEight Control.

In this video, we'll show you how to set up, view, and edit budget codes.

This video assumes your company uses innate control and has selected one of the Control related cost item integration behaviors in your core settings.

Within InEight, you can build unique budget codes by combining budget segments together.

You will be able to view and in some cases edit these budget segments in InEight Control.

And your company may use some of these segments to integrate with other systems.

To set up your budget segments, assuming you have access, you would navigate to all projects and organizations.

Then, select the top organization level for your company and click Scroll down the page until you see budget code.

Here, you can turn on or off the ability to use unique budget codes.

Once enabled, you can define what segments you want to combine to make up your unique budget codes.

Click here to add additional segments as needed. You can then select what type of code to use for each segment.

Since your company uses InEight Control, the project and phase codes fields will populate automatically.

The cost center or other fields you will be able to fill manually.

Notice, when you select other, you can specify the name of the code to use.

Within control, you can view your budget segments.

By simply adding the budget segment columns to a data block within your view.

Notice the first two budget segments filled with the appropriate project and phase codes automatically.

Because the other two segments were for cost center and cost code, you can define them manually.

You can also use the cost item import to import budget segment values from an Excel spreadsheet.

Well, that covers how to set up, view, and edit budget code segments in an eight control.

Thanks for watching.
