Mobile Release Notes

• Updated notes tab on iPad – The layout of the Notes section on the iPad has been updated to be consistent with the layout of the iPhone. Improvements include a new photo count that lists how many photos are in a plan so you can easily see the photo limit. There is also a new swipe to delete option, and the control options have been moved to the upper right corner to be consistent with the other sections in the app. Read more

  

• Updates to Settings Interface on iPad – The Settings Interface was enhanced to match the app’s new color scheme and to also match the iPhone settings slide-out panel. Read more

  
  

• Unlocked equipment columns – Validation for several equipment columns now show in the timecard fields. As a result, the columns have been unlocked, and you can move them from the selected columns list back to the available columns to remove them from the grid. Previously the columns could not be moved and were locked because of where the validation errors were displayed. Read more

Mobile Release Notes

• Clear local database on iPads – You can now clear or refresh the local database from the app settings without having to uninstall and reinstall the application. This is used to clear out data for the entire application or on a single daily plan. Local, un-synced, changes are not restored.

• Auto-Include for components – You can now pull components into a daily plan as tasks are selected. When you have a single component on a WBS or task, which has been previously used in Progress, adding the same WBS on a plan auto selects the component.

• Upload photo attachment sync – When syncing data, failed photo uploads due to connection issues no longer result in a failed sync. The number of photos to be uploaded from the iPad/iPhone shows near the sync icon.

Time Center

• Job title column – A new Job title column has been added to the Time Center grid that lets you filter project employees by job title. For more information, see Time Center Navigation.

Daily Plan

• Copy break and shift details – When copying break and shifts, the resource hours are now copied to the break and shift details in the new plan. For more information, see Daily Plan from Copy.

Mobile Release Notes

• iPad UI updates – The iPad app has been updated to match the latest iPhone app interface for a more consistent experience. Changes to colors and screen alignments were made, but functionality remains the same.

• Quantity tab alignment on iPad – To improve the readability, enhancements were made to the Quantity tab to show text related fields on the left side of the screen and number related fields on the right side of the screen.

Time Center

• Export Time Card history – The Export time cards option in Time Center now shows a new history page. Read more

  In Time Center > Export time cards > View export history, you can now download previous time card history exports. Previously, a history view was not available and single exports were in a CSV format. The export is now a Microsoft Excel file with nearly unlimited time card export count restrictions. • Left side navigation – The Navigation bar was moved from the top of the screen to the left side on the Progress iPad app to match the iPhone interface. Read more

  
  
  

• Copy multiples – The ability to copy multiple days for a Daily plan was added to the mobile iPhone and iPad apps to match the capabilities of Progress web.

• Hour validation – Hour validation was added to the sign-in and sign out screens for both iPhone and iPad mobile apps. Read more

  When reviewing the sign out screen, a warning related to the number of exceeded hours now shows along with an indicator next to the employee on the left panel.

Time Center

To enable specific time entry, the Enforce 15 minute time entry setting in the Progress organization settings must be set to off . This change will facilitate time entry down to the minute. For more information, see Organizational settings.

• In Progress category in the Time Center side panel – A new In Progress category was added to the side panel in Time Center. Previously the not sent category included time cards that were not sent along with those in the processing status. The new category can help you to quickly determine which time cards need to be posted to your external payroll solution. For more information, see Time Center Navigation

• Multi select enabled – You can now select multiple items in Time Center by holding the Shift key while making a group selection. Previously, the only options were individual selections or select all.

• Remove shared queries – You can now remove shared queries. When granted level 2 or 3 permission and the Removed shared queries permission is enabled, a user can unshare a shared query, removing from the shared list for all users. For more information, see Time Center Navigation.

Daily Planning

• Increased hour validation – The Flag hours as exception on the employee review screen when they are above this value setting is now used to highlight employees when more than expected hours are included in the specific daily plan. For more information, see "Organization settings"

• Show all Employee hours – The Daily Plan review has been updated to show all employee hours. The Daily Plan Review now shows all data for any projects the logged-in user has access to allowing for review across multiple projects. For more information, see Employee Register

• Disabled PIN Sign Out – If a PIN has not been configured for an employee, the option to enter a PIN at sign-out is now disabled, and a signature is required. For more information, see Input Actuals

• View plans for all projects – A drop-down option was added to view Plans for All Projects. The View plans for all projects option lets you review multiple projects in Daily Plan Review. For more information, see Employee Register

• Images posted to Document gallery (Web only) – Photos attached to daily plans are now visible in the Document application (if configured) and in the existing sources.

• Default allowances – You can configure an employee so that allowances are automatically associated when added to a daily plan. This is done through the Project assigned Payroll indicators.

• Operational work order entry – For reason code-based projects, you can now enter a custom work order with time collection. This data is made available to Time Center through external APIs.

• Contract data filtered – When you view the contract data in Progress only values with the same vendor associated with the account are shown.

• Override billing class/project rate code – Override billing class and project rate codes are now incorporated into the Progress iPhone application. For more information, see Daily Plan from Scratch

• Face ID supported for sign-in and sign-out – New Face ID biometrics for sign-in and sign-out have been added when available on iPad and iPhone hardware. For more information, see Input Actuals

• Copy planned quantities – When making a copy of a plan with planned quantities, the planned values now are copied if the components are selected. Previously, this feature was only available on the web and it is now included in the iPad or iPhone app. For more information, see Daily Plan from Copy

• Ability to send field issues before plan approval – iPad now supports publishing a field issue logged in the app before daily plan approval. Previously, this feature was only available on the web.

Time Center

• Shared Views – Views can now be shared with users and roles. Role recipients require Time Center access. For more information, see Time Center Navigation

• Default allowances – You can configure an employee so that allowances are automatically associated when added to a daily plan. This is done through the Project assigned Payroll indicators.

• Added fields to query builder – The Created by and Project display fields have been added to the query builder.

• Operational work order entry – For reason code-based projects, you can now enter a custom work order with time collection in the Time sheet tab. You can create and edit this information through Daily Plan and Time Center and it's been added to the Progress external APIs.

• Predefined date ranges update – The predefined date range values have been revised to use the organization fiscal calendar weekend day for week-based ranges.

Time Weekly time

• Weekly time sheet access – Weekly time sheet access has been moved to the account level from the project level. This move better reflects the cross-project functionality of the application. Users must have a role assigned with organizational permissions; an existing default role mapped to the organization is acceptable.

• Hours without Cost code – A new option was added in the organization settings to control whether users are allowed to save hours without selecting the task in the Weekly time sheet first. For more information, see Organization settings

Daily Planning

• Time configuration settings – Time Center was updated to provide more visibility at the account and project levels. New toggles were added under the Daily Planning settings to Display Employee and Equipment Billing Class and to Enable Time Center.

  

• Filter approver – The Approver and Executor columns in Daily Plan can now be filtered.

• Payroll indicator data – The Allowance, Employee premiums, and Attendance types payroll indicator must now be created in Master data libraries and are no longer available in Progress. To configure payroll indicators in a project, go to Project Settings > Assigned payroll indicators. When the Auto Opt-In is enabled (set to true), every employee is eligible for allowance. When the field is disabled (set to false) you must add specific employees for allowance and define allowance values. For Release 23.10 employees will need to be associated to the allowance through the Plan UnionPayrollIndiator API. The Status field is not utilized in this release.

  

Daily Planning

• Send issues to Change – You can now send an issue to Ineight Change before the daily plan is approved which lets you access issues earlier. Previously, any issues created in the Daily Plan would be sent when the plan was approved.

• Link External URLs – You can now upload external URL links when attaching files. For more information, see Attachments on the Web

• Copy planned quantities – Planned quantities now copy over when copying daily plans. For more information, see Daily Plan from Copy

Time Center

• Time center calendar range – You now have the option to select a custom date range or from a predefined calendar with a list of values based on business processes. For more information, see Time Center Navigation

• Multiple billing classes – (mobile) You can now have multiple rate codes and Billing classes on a single Daily Plan without overriding the current billing class.

Weekly Time sheet

• Comma separator – You can now enter a comma as a separator in place of the default period for the Labor and Equipment columns.

Global Time Center

• Segment columns – Unique budget code segments are now visible in Time Center, so you can view budget codes with their supporting segment. Read more

  When you configure unique budget codes at the organization level (All projects & organizations > Edit organization) the segment numbers are matched with the corresponding columns in Time Center.

  

Weekly Time sheet

• Improved notes functionality– Notes originating in the Weekly Time Sheet or Global Time Center can now be edited. Photo previews have also been improved to display larger and allow downloads. Read more

  To edit or add a note click on the Edit Note icon under the Notes column in the Time card register.

   

  The Notes dialog box will open where you can add or edit details.

   

  Under the Photos section, you can click to preview, and a large version of the image will show. Right clicking the image will give you the option to download.

   

• Allowed blank tasks– Weekly time sheet allows blank tasks when submitting hours. Previously a task needed to be specified before saving.

Time Center

• Time center move– Time Center has moved to the account level as Global Time Center. You must have access to the account to view or load the Global Time Center.

• Improved notes functionality– Notes originating in the Weekly Time Sheet or Global Time Center can now be edited. Photo previews have also been improved to display larger and allow downloads.

Daily Planning

• Sign in all– (web and mobile)You can now sign in all employees at one time. Read more

  In Daily planning the option to Sign in all eligible employees has been added in the Sign in/ Sign out subtab of a daily plan.

   

• Vendor assigned user– (web and mobile) When assigned to a vendor the list of tasks is now filtered depending on the assigned vendor.

Weekly Time sheet

• Approval Delegation Permission - A new permission was added that allows another person to submit time sheets even though they are not the supervisor. Read more

The new Approve team time sheets for others option can be found in roles and permissions under the Weekly time sheet section. This allows the selected employee to submit time sheets even though they may not be the supervisor.

• Vendor assignment- A Vendor drop-down option was added in the Employee details page. Read more

  When a vendor is selected, the employee sees limited information that comes from the assigned vendors resource data. When the employee accesses the application, the lists and equipment come from the vendor assignment.

  

Global Time Center

• Progress time center- A new option under the project account level was added that will show Progress time center as a sub-level menu option. Read more

  The Progress time center now shows as a sub-level menu option under the account level. You need to have organization or account access to see the sub-level option for Time center.

  

  This option requires level 2 or 3 administrator levels. To set the correct administrator level, Go to Suite administration > Roles and permissions, and then click the Add role icon. Under Role details, the Administrator level field includes a drop-down menu. The administrator level can be set and saved only once for every new role.

  

• Project groups- You now have the option to see one or more projects at a time in a single grid of data. Read more

  Go to Progress Time center, and then click on the drop-down menu labeled Select project group. You can select previously saved groups, and edit or add a new project group.

  

  To add a new group, name the new project group, and then select from the available projects or organizations.

  

  If your resources go across projects, this helps to check employees assigned to multiple projects on a single page instead of checking each project individually.

  

  You can still work with a single project. The option to create groups has been added as a quicker work flow option.

Daily planning

• Attachment checkbox (web and mobile – compatible with all web versions)-Attachments can now be copied into future daily plans. Read more

A new Attachments option has been added to the Copy daily plan dialog box. When you copy a daily plan, you can now select the Attachments box to include them in future daily plans.

Daily planning

• WP resources association (web and mobile – compatible with all web versions)-You can now access associated work packages when adding resources in time sheets. Read more

When adding resources in time sheets, you can now access associated work packages. When selected and added to the plan, the associated work packages will no longer show listed. To do this, a work package in IWP must have resources, equipment, labor, or components with tasks or WSB associations, so the values are brought into the relevant fields.

• Equipment review(web and mobile – compatible with all web versions)- The daily plan review now has a cleaner UI. When you click on employees or equipment, you can view all resources used. Read more

  In Daily Plan Review, you can now select employees or equipment filtered by date. A live report shows all resources used, and you can click on the plan name to make adjustments.

  

  22.10 Mobile Release Notes

  • Updated component search (mobile only)- The search function in the mobile app has been redesigned to make it easier to find components. Read more

  To search components in the mobile app, go to Quantities, and then select a task that has components. A new icon labeled Recent components and the search components show. Tap Search components to search for all components under the selected task.

  

   

• Break time updates (web and mobile – compatible with all web versions) – You can add break times for the entire crew instead of just an individual employee at a time. Read more

  On the Sign In/Sign Out tab of a daily plan, if you click the Crew hours icon at the top of the Employee side panel, the Enter crew hours dialog box opens. In Crew break details, you can enter break start times and lengths for the entire crew.

  

  If you enter a break time for an individual employee, it overrides the crew break time for that employee.

  At the top of the page, the total number of break hours is shown.

  

  • Apply hours to multiple employees (web only) – You can now apply hours to multiple employees on the web. This feature matches mobile functionality. Read more

    On the Time Sheet tab, when you click the intersection of an employee and a task, the Employee hours dialog box now has the following options:

    • Apply hours to selected employees: This option lets you select the intersections of employees and tasks to apply the entered hours. When you are finished selecting intersections, click Done.

      

    • Apply hours to all employees for the task: This option automatically applies the entered hours to all employees.

  • Remove unused tasks and resources (web and mobile – compatible with all web versions) – You can remove all unused tasks or resources from a daily plan at the same time. Read more

    At the top of the Time Sheet tab, click the Remove unused tasks and resources icon, and then select one of the following options:

    • Remove unused resources: All employees with no daily plan data associated with them are removed from the daily plan.

    • Remove unused tasks: All tasks with no daily plan data associated with them are removed from the daily plan.

    

    Daily plan data associated with resources or tasks that are considered for removal include hours, quantities, notes, premiums, allowances, attendance, shift sign-in and sign-out, breaks, head count, and billing class.

  • Shift hours (web only) – Total shift hours are shown for employees in the Sign In/Sign Out tab.

• Time center:

  • Employee user defined field – A new Employee UDF 1 text field has been added. By default, its value is set to the value in InEight Platform. You can override the default value in Time center.

    Some Progress mobile 22.8 features are backward-compatible with previous web versions. Backward-compatibility differs by feature and is detailed below.

  • Daily planning:

    • Break time updates (web and mobile – compatible with all web versions) – You can add break times for the entire crew instead of just an individual employee at a time. Read more

    The Premiums check box is only enabled if the Resources, Extra pay, and Resource hours check boxes are selected.

    

  • Associate vendor to a daily plan (web and mobile - compatible with all web versions) – You can associate a vendor to a daily plan. Read more  Watch video

    In InEight Control, you can assign vendors to individual cost items to indicate that a certain scope of work will be completed by a third-party vendor. That vendor data can now be used in daily planning.

    You can associate vendors to a daily plan and add them individually as resources in the time sheet.

    When you add or edit a daily plan, there is an Associated vendor field at the bottom of the Add and Edit daily plan dialog boxes. Select a vendor from the drop-down list. Available vendors are populated based on vendor associations for your project in Control.

    

    To add a vendor to the Time sheet tab of a daily plan, click Add tasks and resources, and then click Vendors in the slide-out panel. Select vendors from the left side of the panel, and then click Done. With a vendor resource, you can add vendor labor hours to tasks in the same way as other resources by clicking in the empty tile that corresponds to that vendor and task.

    

    In the Vendor labor hours dialog box, enter the hours worked for the applicable reason codes, and enter the number of workers in the Headcount field. Click Done.

    

    The total hours worked is shown in the vendor and task tiles. The headcount is shown in the vendor tile.

    

  • Vendor associations in daily plan notes (web and mobile - compatible with all web versions) – Notes entered by vendors are automatically associated so that reporting separates vendor comments. Read more

    Vendor associations are shown in notes for the following scenarios.

    When a vendor is associated with a daily plan and you add a note, the associated vendor is automatically added to Associations in the note.

    When you add a note to a vendor resource on the Time sheet, that vendor is automatically added to the Associations in the note.

    

  • Break time intervals (web and mobile) – Break times can now be entered using intervals of five minutes.

Some Progress mobile 22.6 features are backward-compatible with previous web versions. Backward-compatibility differs by feature and is detailed below.

    If there are issues associated with a component, you can see the issues on the Quantities tab when you click the Add notes icon next to the component. Issues are shown in the side panel in purple to distinguish them from notes.

    

  • Phase colors (web only) – The colors of daily plan phases have been changed to be more distinctive to match the colors in the mobile application.

In this release, no features were added but technical improvements were made in the background to enhance your experience in Progress.

• Daily planning:

  • Default shift start and end times (web and mobile – compatible with web version 22.2) – You can set default shift start and finish times per project. Read more

    Default shift times can be set at the organization level in Settings > Progress > Daily Planning > General in the Shifts table. Two new Shift Default Start and End time columns have been added. You can set default start and end times for each shift.

    

    At the project level, you can enable or disable a shift but cannot edit the default start or end times.

    When default shift times are set, the Sign In/Sign Out tab of a daily plan automatically shows the default times in the Shift start and Shift end fields. You can manually change the times in the daily plan.

    

  • Notes date (web and mobile – compatible with web version 22.2) – Notes now show the date they are added to a daily plan.

• Daily planning:

  • InEight Document attachments in Management console (web only) – You can attach files from Document in the Management console. Read moreWatch video

    In the Attach and link files option of the Management console, you can now click Link from InEight Document in the center panel. You can set filter criteria to narrow the list of records from Document. After you set filter criteria, click Apply. Related Document records are shown in the table.

    

    You can select one or more records, and then attach to all daily plans in the right panel or only to specific plans you select in the right panel.

    

  • Attach from Document in daily plan (web and mobile – compatible with web version 21.12) – You can attach files from Document in a daily plan. Read more Watch video

    You can attach files from Document to a daily plan from the web to be viewed on both the web and mobile.

    On a mobile device, you can only view Document attachments. To attach a file from Document, you must use the web application.

    This feature lets you attach files to an individual daily plan from inside the plan. You can also attach Document files to multiple plans from the Management console.

    To attach a file to a daily plan, click the Attach File icon in the upper left of the page, and then click the Add icon in the Attach files to daily plan dialog box.

    

    Open the Link from InEight Document tab. You can set filter criteria to narrow the list of records from Document. After you set filter criteria, click Apply. Related Document records are shown in the table. Select the files you want, and then click Link from InEight Document.

    

    To view a Document attachment, click a file name in the Attach files to daily plan dialog box to open Document in a new window.

  • Contract components (web and mobile – compatible with web version 21.12) – You can add contract components to a daily plan to track against InEight Contract for billing validation. Read more

    Contract-type components in InEight Plan are linked to InEight Contract Schedule of Value items for billing validation. You can now use contract components in daily plans.

    To add contracts with a corresponding component, on the Quantities tab, click Add task or contract in the lower left of the page.

    

    In the slide-out panel, open the Contract tab, and then select one or more contracts from the list. Selected contracts are moved to the Add to daily plan list. Click Done.

    

    Select a contract from the Contract list in the lower left of the Quantities tab, and then click Add component for select task/contract.

    

    Select a contract component from the View existing components slide-out panel, and then click Done.

  • Allow as-built at non-terminal level – Cost items are now available regardless of the value of the Is terminal flag in InEight Control. This feature lets you track costs and quantities at different levels. Read more

    In Plan and Progress, a WBS is available for use according to the following criteria in Control:

    • Hide in Plan and Progress value

    • WBS locked status

    • WBS Allow as-built values are All, Cost, or Manhour

    If the WBS Allow as-built is set to Cost, then all quantity functions are allowed. If the value is Manhour, then only new manhour entries are allowed from Progress. If the value is All, then no restrictions are enforced for the WBS through the Allow as-built setting.

  • Increased photo limit (web and mobile – compatible with web version 21.12) – The attached photo limit has been increased from 10 to 20 per daily plan to improve user experience while preserving syncing performance.

• Time center:

  • Performance improvements – General performance improvements have been made.

• Daily planning:

  • Attach in daily plan (mobile only) – You can attach a PDF from inside a daily plan. Read more

    In a daily plan, tap the Attach File icon in the upper right of the page, and then select Upload document from device from the drop-down menu.

    

    In the Upload Documents dialog box, tap the Add icon.

    

    Select the file from your device, and then tap Upload.

    An attachment must be 10 MB or less.

    

    To delete an attachment, tap the Attach File icon in the upper right of the page, and then select View attached files from the drop-down menu. Swipe to the left on the attachment you want to delete, and then tap the Delete icon.

    

  • InEight Document attachments (mobile and web – compatible with web version 21.12) – You can view files attached from Document. Read more

    In a daily plan, tap the Attach File icon in the upper right of the page, and then select View attached files from the drop-down menu.

    

    In the Attached Files dialog box, tap a file whose source is InEight Document to view it in the Document mobile app.

    You can only view Document attachments in the Document mobile app if you have the app downloaded and have access to the same project in Document.

    

  • Contract components (mobile and web – compatible with web version 21.12) – You can add contract components to a daily plan to track against InEight Contract for billing validation. Read more

    Contract-type components in InEight Plan are linked to InEight Contract Schedule of Value items for billing validation. You can now use contract components in daily plans.

    The Management console gives you one location to manage toolbox talks for various topics and attachments. The console lets you add these items and apply them to multiple daily plans at the same time.

    To open the Management console, select at least one daily plan from the Daily planning home page, and then click Edit multiple.

    

    The Management console has three panels. The left panel is a menu of options you can manage. The options include:

    • Toolbox talks – Safety

    • Toolbox talks – Quality

    • Toolbox talks – Environmental

    • Toolbox talks – General discussion

    • Attach and link files

    The center panel lets you add toolbox talks or attachments to daily plans in the right panel.

    The right panel lists the available daily plans to add toolbox talks or attachments to out of the plans that you select from the Daily planning home page.

    Only plans that can be edited are shown in the right panel.

    To add a toolbox talk, select the type of toolbox talk in the left panel, and then fill out the Safety Concern and Mitigation fields in the center panel. Click Add to all daily plans.

    You can also add multiple toolbox talks at the same time. Click the plus icon under the toolbox talk to add another.

    You can also select specific plans in the right panel, and then click Add to selected daily plans.

    

    To add an attachment, click Attach and link files in the left panel, and then click SELECT FILES or drag and drop a file into the gray box. in the center panel, select a file, and then click Add to all daily plans.

    

    You can also select specific plans in the right panel, and then click Add to selected daily plans.

    To remove a toolbox talk or attachment from a daily plan, click the x icon next to the item in the right panel.

  • Override billing class (web and mobile – compatible with web version 21.10) – You can temporarily change the billing class of employees in a daily plan’s time sheet. This feature is useful when performing work considered an alternative to your default billing class. Read moreWatch video

    In the Time sheet tab of a daily plan, you can choose a new temporary billing class for an employee that applies only to that daily plan.

    If you change the billing class in a daily plan, the change is temporary. The employee’s default billing class is not changed.

    To override an employee’s billing class, click the employee name, and then select Billing Class.

    

    In the dialog box, select a billing class, and then click Save.

  • Filter completed components (web only) – You can choose to show or hide completed components when searching in the Quantities tab of a daily plan. Read more

    In the Quantities tab of a daily plan, if you add a component, you can filter completed components from the list of available components. To show or hide completed components, click the toggle in the upper right of the side panel.

    

• Time center:

  • Override billing class – You can change the billing class of employees. This feature is useful when performing work considered an alternative to your default billing class. Watch video

  • Save and share views – You can save and share views.

    If you are a supervisor and have employee time cards that need to be approved, the top of the Weekly time sheet home page for an employee shows Approve and Reject buttons.

    

    If you tap Reject, a dialog box lets you enter a reason for rejection.

    Push notifications to your mobile device also remind you of approval deadlines.

• Time center:

  • Localization – Time center supports all platform languages.

  • Bulk emergency send – A new option lets you resend all time cards on all projects that are in progress in case of integration failure. Read more

    In Settings > Progress > Time center, you can click the Emergency send – In progress timecards button to resend all in-progress time cards.

    

• Weekly time sheet:

  • Localization – Weekly time sheet supports all platform languages.

  • Week start day – The week start day is shown based on the setting under Daily planning at the organization level, instead of at the project level.

  • Negative hours at organization level – You can enter negative hours based on the setting under Daily planning at the organization level, instead of at the project level.

• Daily plan:

  • Show long component names (mobile only) – The UI has been enhanced to show longer component names instead of truncating them.

• Weekly time sheet:

  • Mobile app – A new iOS app is available for Weekly time sheet. Read more

    The Weekly time sheet app lets you manage and submit weekly time sheets for yourself and your team members from a mobile device.

    To log in to Weekly time sheet for the first time, you must enter your email address and the customer code from your InEight representative.

    Your mobile device must be connected to the internet to access or manage weekly time sheets.

    • Navigation – You can easily navigate between time sheets for team members, copy from previous weeks, and view history. Read more

      When you open the app and log in, My weekly time sheet is shown. From this page, you can add employee and equipment hours and allowances, submit and copy hours, and view a history that shows time sheet creation and approval. To view previous or future time sheets, use the left and right arrows at the top of the page.

      

      When you tap the main menu icon in the upper-left of the page, you can manage team members to add other employees whose weekly time sheets you want to see. You can also change language settings and log out.

      

    • Hours and allowances – You can add, edit, and delete employee and equipment hours and allowances. Read more

      When you open Employee hours, a row is shown for each time card that shows project, reason code, hour type, task, and daily hours. You can add, edit, delete, or view notes, depending on your permissions.

      

      When you add a time card, you must select a project, reason code, hour type, and task. After you fill out these fields and add hours for at least one day, tap Save.

      

      When you edit a time card, you can change any of the fields and add a note for a specific day.

      If a time card field is white, you can add or edit hours directly in the Employee hours page, and then tap Save.

      If a time card has a note, the hours field for the specific day has a blue icon.

      

      The Equipment hours page has most of the same functionality as the Employee hours page, except that you must select a piece of equipment instead of an hour type when you add a time card. Equipment time cards also do not have notes.

      

      The Allowances page lets you add, edit, and delete allowance time cards. An allowance time card requires a project, reason code, and whether the allowance applies to a specific day.

      

• Daily plan:

  • Copy to multiple days (web only) – To save time planning, you can copy a daily plan to multiple days at the same time. Read more

    The Copy daily plan dialog box has a Multiple days option that lets you specify how many days you can copy a daily plan to starting with the entered plan date.

    You can copy to a maximum of 99 days.

    

  • Edit with failed payroll sync (web only) – Daily plans are unlocked when a payroll sync fails, so you can fix errors and resend.

• Weekly time sheet:

  • Supervisor approval notifications – Notifications remind you when employee and supervisor submissions are due or past due.

• Norwegian (web and mobile – compatible with web version 21.5 ) – Progress is available in the Norwegian (Bokmål) language.

• Common navigation (web only) – The common navigation used across all InEight cloud platform applications has been enhanced for ease of use. For more details, refer to InEight Platform release notes.

• Open InEight Compliance mobile (mobile only) – You can open the Compliance app using a link in the Progress app. Read more

  A Compliance icon has been added to the top of the Plans list and daily plan details pages. If you click the icon, Compliance mobile opens to your project. You must have the Compliance mobile app installed on your device.

  

• Norwegian (mobile and web – compatible with web version 21.5 ) – Progress is available in the Norwegian (Bokmål) language.

• Daily plan:

  • Sign In/Sign Out (web and mobile – compatible with web version 21.3) – The Signout tab has been redesigned as the Sign In/Sign Out tab. The new tab has three sub tabs for Sign In, Breaks, and Sign Out.

    • Sign In – Crews can sign into a daily plan and log any questions related to the beginning of the shift. Read more

      In the Sign In/Sign Out tab, there is a Sign In subtab where you can enter your shift start time, see your planned tasks, answer any pre-shift questions, and sign in.

      

      The Shift start field is synced with the Breaks and Sign Out subtabs, so changes made to the time in one subtab change the others. If you enter a Shift end value in the other subtabs, you cannot edit the Shift start field in the Sign In subtab.

      After you answer all required questions, you can click Done. For some questions, you might have to add a note if your answer is considered an exception. If you want to give the default answer to all questions, click No Exceptions. Click Clear to clear your answers and start over.

      

      Depending on how your project is set up, you can sign in using a PIN or signature or sign in on behalf of an employee.

      To set up sign-in options for your organization, go to Settings > Progress > Daily Planning > Sign-in. You can use these settings to enable sign-in and determine whether employees must sign in their own hours or if authorized users can sign in on behalf of employees.

      Use the Sign-in questions table to add, edit, or remove questions, set default answers, add auto notes for employees to add exceptions, and set whether a question is required.

      

    • Breaks – Crews can enter up to three breaks per plan per person. Read more

      In the SIgn In/Sign Out tab, there is a Breaks subtab where you can enter break start times and lengths.

      

      You can also change your shift start and shift end times.

      If you change the shift start and end times, the Sign In and Sign Out subtabs change to match the new times.

    • Sign Out – The Sign Out sub tab has all the features of the old Signout tab in addition to sign out questions. Read more

      To set up sign-out options for your organization, go to Settings > Progress > Daily Planning > Sign-out. You can use these settings to enable sign-out and determine whether employees must sign out their own hours or if authorized users can sign out on behalf of employees.

      Use the Sign-out questions table to add, edit, or remove questions, set default answers, add auto notes for employees to add exceptions, and set whether a question is required.

      

• Time center:

  • Time card reallocation – You can move Weekly time sheet time cards from one project to another project. Read more

    To move time cards to another project, you must first create a query that includes all time cards you want to reallocate. After you create the query, click Time card reallocation in the upper right of the page. In the slide-out panel, select the query and the start and end dates of all the time cards you want to move. You must then enter the new project ID. You can also move all time cards to a new task in the new project.

    If you leave the Old task field blank, you can reallocate all selected time cards to one new task. This is a many-to-one reallocation. If you select a task in the Old task field, only time cards with that task are reallocated. To do a many-to-many reallocation, you must perform multiple reallocations.

    

• Weekly time sheet:

  • Supervisor approval – You can require time sheets to be approved or rejected by supervisors. Read more

    To require supervisor approval at the organization level, go to Settings > Progress > Weekly time sheet, and then enable Supervisor approval required. You must also set what days and times of the week employees must submit hours and when supervisors must submit approvals.

    An employee must have a supervisor assigned in Master data libraries > Operational resources.

    

    After you submit a time sheet, you can see the history and comments of the time sheet approval or rejection at the bottom of the page. Icons next to employee names show whether their time sheets have been approved, are pending, or rejected.

    

• Daily plan:

    To link an employee with equipment, you must click the employee’s task box in the Time sheet tab instead of the equipment’s task box. In the Labor hours dialog box, if you enter hours for a reason code, the Equipment icon becomes available. Click the Equipmenticon, and then select a piece of equipment to associate with the labor reason code. Click Done.

    

    You can no longer link employees and equipment from an equipment task. If you click an equipment task, the equipment’s operated hours are dimmed. You can still add reason codes and hours to equipment, but employee linking must be done through the employee.

    

• Time Center:

  • Project equipment dates – Time Center consumes start and end dates for project equipment the same as it does for project employees. You cannot add equipment unless the date is within the equipment’s start and end dates. Read more.

Some Progress mobile 21.1 features are backward-compatible with previous web versions. Backward-compatibility differs by feature and is detailed below.

• Daily Plan:

    In Settings > Progress > Daily Planning > Time configuration, the Employee reason codes table now has an Hour type column. For each reason code, you can select an hour type from the drop-down list. The options are Standard time, Overtime, and Double time. Standard time is the default option.

    

    Hour type is editable only at the organization level. At the project level, this column is read-only.

  • Hour types and Reason codes display (web and mobile - compatible with web version 20.11) – You can see hour totals by hour type when using reason codes in the Time sheet, Signout, and Productivity tabs. Read more.

    On the Time Sheet tab of a daily plan, when you click the intersection of an employee or equipment and a task, the Labor hours or Equipment hours dialog box opens.

    In the Labor hours dialog box, you can add reason codes, enter hours for each reason code in the blank box, and then assign premiums to them by clicking the premium icon.

    

    The Equipment hours dialog box has the same actions as Labor hours. You can also assign an employee operator by clicking the employee icon.

    

  • Allowance summary (web only) – You can see the Allowance summary on the web. This feature was already available in the mobile application. Read more.

    In the Signout tab, the Time sheet summary dialog box now shows Extra pay (Allowances) that you can apply to each employee.

    When you add a note to the Notes/Issues tab in the web application, there is now a place to add photos. You can either drag and drop a photo into the box or click Browse Photos to select a file from your hard drive.

    

  • Shift start and end times (web only) – You can now add when a shift starts and ends. This feature gives you an easy way to track employee breaks, which might be required in some locations. Read more.

    On the Signout tab, there are new Shift start and Shift end fields under Employee time overview.

    

  • Signature sign-out (web only - previously only available on mobile) – You can now add a signature for sign-out on the web to match mobile functionality. Read more.

    On the Signout tab in the web application, there is a new Sign out with signature option. If you click the signature box, a dialog box opens where you can write your signature with the mouse.

    

  • Disable material component claiming(web and mobile) – When material component claiming is disabled in InEight Plan, you can no longer add material components in a daily plan.
  • Date and numeric formatting(web and mobile) – Your preferences for date and numeric formats are now reflected in the application, which is beneficial for localization.
  • Resync approved plans(web only) – You can now resync an approved plan. Previously, you could only resync when a plan failed.
• Time Center:
  • Zero-hour time cards– You can no longer create time cards with zero hours.

  • Shift start and end times – The new shift start and end times in Daily Plan are also shown in Time Center. Read more.

    Four new date and time columns have been added that are filled with data from Daily Plan:

    • Employee shift start
    • Employee shift end
    • Plan shift start
    • Plan shift end

    

• Weekly Time sheet:
  • Zero-hour time cards– When you set hours to zero, an associated time card is longer automatically created in Time Center.

Some Progress mobile 20.7 features are backward-compatible with previous web versions. Backward-compatibility differs by feature and is detailed below.

• Disable material component claiming(mobile and web - compatible with web version 20.7) – When material component claiming is disabled in InEight Plan, you are no longer able to add material components in a daily plan.
• Kiosk mode improvements(mobile only - compatible with web version 20.7):
  • Force sync at sign-out– A sync occurs automatically when you sign out, so all data is received.

  • Implement background sync – The time it takes to switch users and sync data has been reduced. Read more.

    The option to enable background sync is in Settings.

    

  • Data storage improvements– The storage strategy has been changed to improve efficiency when many users are using the same device.
• Date and numeric formatting(mobile and web - compatible with all web versions) – Your preferences for date and numeric formats are now reflected in the application, which is beneficial for localization.
• Future-dated plans with no quantities(mobile only - compatible with all web versions) – You are now able to approve future-dated plans with no quantities, even when quantities and manhours are required. This change is useful for approving holiday hours ahead of time.

• Daily plan:

  • Add notes to maintenance tasks (web and mobile - compatible only with web version 20.5) – A notes field has been added to maintenance tasks, which did not previously have a place to log communication. Read more.

    On the Time Sheet tab, when you right-click a maintenance task, you can use the new Add note option to be taken to the Note/Issues tab to type the note. When you are done, the new note is associated with the maintenance task.

    

    

    You can also add a new note in the Notes/Issues tab and associate it with an existing maintenance task.

  • Remove automatic creation of temporary components (mobile only - compatible with all web versions) – When you submit a daily plan, temporary components are no longer created automatically for each task that has not been associated with a component for claiming. Previously, if not all tasks needed to have quantities claimed, you had to manually delete temporary components before moving the plan forward.
  • Add employee ID to allowance summary (web and mobile - compatible with all web versions) – The employee ID has been added to the allowance summary page. Previously, multiple employees with the same name could not be differentiated in the allowance summary page.
  • Calculate costs slide-out panel enabled for reason codes (web only) – The Calculate costs slide-out panel has been enabled for reason codes, using the ST rate for all hours entered. Previously, this panel only worked for ST, OT, and DT.

  • Sign out all employees (web only) – You can now sign out on behalf of all employees, to save time during the sign-out process. Read more.

    If you have set your project to allow signing out on behalf of employees, when you select On behalf of employee on the Signout tab, there is a new Sign out all button.

    

  • Task sorting (web and mobile - compatible with all web versions) – When adding a task in the Time sheet or Quantities tabs, the list is now sorted with non-overhead tasks at the top, to help you better distinguish between tasks.
  • Inactive equipment no longer copied (web only) – When you copy a daily plan, inactive equipment is no longer copied to the new plan, saving you time having to remove it later.

  • Flag inactive maintenance (web and mobile - compatible only with web version 20.5) – Inactive maintenance tasks are now flagged with an icon to give you a visual indicator. Read more.

    If a maintenance task is inactive, a new icon indicates its invalid status. If you click the icon, a message explains that you cannot add hours to the task.

    

    

  • Copy plan from inside a plan (web only) – You can now copy a plan when you have it open, instead of having to go back to the list of plans. Read more.

    The Copy icon is now in the top left of the page when you have a daily plan open. If you click the icon, the Copy daily plan dialog box opens.

    

  • Shift end time entry improved (mobile only - compatible with all web versions) – When you change the shift start time to be later than the end time, the end time is now automatically changed to be equal to the new start time. Previously, the start time was validated to not be after the end time, requiring you to change the end time first.
  • Permissions change (web and mobile - compatible with all web versions) – Permissions are now inherited consistently from higher organizational levels.
  • Allow approval of future-dated plans without quantity (web only) – A future-dated plan with hours but without quantity can now be approved for holiday purposes.
• Weekly Time sheet:
  • Notes:

    • Add notes – You now have a place to collect notes, so you can add clarification and communication on items, including staff and crew labor. Read more.

      After you save hours for an employee, you can now right-click on one day’s hours record and select Manage Notes to open the new Notes slide-out panel.

      

      In this slide-out panel, you can Add Notes. Notes can contain up to 4000 characters.

      

      Notes can only be added for employees, not equipment or allowances.

  • Filter for equipment hours– Equipment hours can now be filtered for in the query builder. This field was previously not available in the query builder.
  • Message when query returns no results– When a query returns no time cards, a message is now shown to notify you.
  • Fixed integration status with bulk edit– If a time card’s previous version status was In Progress, then the new time card version will be Sent Not Current. Previously, the new version status was Not Sent.
  • Union Payroll Indicator API– Time has been removed from the start and end date fields.

Progress mobile version 20.2 is backwards-compatible with web versions 19.11, 19.9, and 19.7.

• Daily Plan:

  • Clear all filters (web only) – A button has been added so you can clear all filters at once. Previously, you had to individually clear filters on each row. Read more.

    When you apply one or more filters to the My Daily Plans or All Plans tabs, you can select the new clear all filters button in the upper right of the page.

    

  • Apply to selected equipment (mobile only) – You can now select a group of equipment on a daily plan and assign hours. This functionality was previously available only for employees. Read more.

    There is a new Apply hours to selected equipments button in the hours-entry pop-up window on the Time sheet page. When you select a piece of equipment to apply hours to, the new button appears in the lower left of the pop-up window.

    

    You are then able to select multiple equipment to apply the same number of hours.

    

  • Sort alphabetically (web and mobile) – A button has been added to automatically sort resources alphabetically, with employees first and equipment second. Previously, resources were arranged in the Time sheet tab in the order in which they were assigned, or you could manually reorder the list. Read more.

    When resources in a daily plan are not already ordered alphabetically, you can use the new AZ sort button to automatically sort resources alphabetically. When you sort alphabetically, employees are sorted before equipment, and temporary resources are sorted before regular resources.

    

  • Scroll location lock(web) – This feature locks your location when you scroll down the grid and assign an attendance type or extra pay to an employee. Previously, the view reset to the beginning of the list, causing unwanted scrolling and searching in long lists.
  • Same role allowed for multiple approvers(web and mobile) – Each approver no longer needs to be assigned a unique role, removing the extra step of creating unnecessary roles.
  • Approval of resources with zero hours(web only) – Plans can now be approved with resources (employees and equipment) that have zero hours in the plan, making it easier to reuse the same resource for multiple days when that resource may not be used every day. This functionality was already available on mobile.
  • As-Build Quantities setting(web and mobile) – If a task is added to a daily plan with As-Build set to Quantities, only quantities can be claimed, and hours are disabled.
  • Dutch language localization(web and mobile) – Language settings have been added for Dutch, expanding the options for localization.
  • Work order API(web only) – The work order API has been redesigned to support InEight APIM standards.
• Weekly Time sheet:
  • Last selected project– When you add time, equipment, or allowances to an employee, the last selected project is automatically selected, making these actions more efficient.
  • View more rows– When adding rows, the section expands so you no longer have to scroll. Previously, you could only see three rows before having to scroll within the section.
  • Submit week– You can now submit a week even if unapproved daily plans are present for the selected week. This change removes an unnecessary validation step.
  • Plan ID hyperlink– The Plan ID is now a hyperlink that opens the daily plan in a new tab, making it easier to open the plan.
  • Allow in Daily Plan equipment setting– Only equipment that have the project setting of Allow in Daily Plan set to True are shown in the equipment list. This change shows only necessary equipment.
• Time Center:

• Daily Plan:

  • Favorite component indicator – A favorite icon has been associated with the component in the Quantities section of a Daily Plan. When selected, these components move to the top of the list, eliminating time wasted scrolling through a long list of items. Read more.

    To make a component one of your favorites, select the new star outline icon to the right of the component name in the Quantities tab. After you select the icon, it turns gold and the component moves to the top of the list.

    

  • Planned and claimed task and component indicator - An icon now appears in the Quantities tab of a daily plan when a task or component is planned or claimed. The icon surfaces against the WBS and against the component. This eliminates time wasted scrolling through a long list of tasks and components, giving you a visual indicator of what is planned and installed. Read more.

    There are two new indicators that show whether tasks’ and components’ claiming for that plan is positive or negative. These indicators appear as arrows that are green and upward for positive and red and downward for negative.

    In the Task list, the arrows appear to the right of the task name. In the components list, the arrows appear to the left of the component name.

    

  • Work Package link in Daily Plan – The IWP document generated in Plan and sent to InEight Document is now linked in an associated Daily Plan. This change makes Work Package details available to field personnel. Read more.

    On the Overviewtab of a daily plan, if you select a Work plan/package ID – Name that has an associated work package in InEight Document, a new Document icon in the top right corner of the page becomes active. If you select the icon, you can select from the drop-down list of work packages to open in Document.

    

  • Improved sync times– Only changes are now sent, instead of sending the entire plan every time.
  • Daily plan ID– The daily plan ID now appears at the end of the daily plan name at the top of the screen when a daily plan is open. This change gives you a constant indicator of the current daily plan’s ID, eliminating the need to go to a different page to find it.
• Time Center:
  • Sort by internal Employee and Equipment ID– New sorting options give you a different way to see data.
  • Sent Timecards– Sent timecards no longer show warnings or errors, giving you a more accurate representation of what errors and warnings need to be assessed for the current period.
  • Active validation period– Warnings and errors now appear only for timecards during their active validation period, which is a field in settings that was previously named Work schedule duration.
