Use Case

Now that the budget, pricing and forecast are all up to date, the project controls manager let’s the scheduler know it was approved so he can update the schedule.

In InEight Schedule, once “what-if” changes have been approved, you can update the modified schedule to become the Active Update schedule, so the additional work becomes an official part of the schedule moving forward.

Walk through the steps below to update the What-if schedule to become the active month-end schedule moving forward.

Step 1

Since InEight Schedule only allows one schedule to be the Active Update schedule, you will need to change the Schedule type of the current active schedule from Active Update to Inactive Update.

Step 2

Since your what-if schedule was a copy of the active schedule at the time, it contained the most up-to-date version of the schedule, plus the schedule activities you added or modified for the pending issue or change order.

Now that the change is approved, you can change the Schedule type of the What-if schedule from What if to Active Update.

Step 3

You can double click in the Project/Schedule name field to rename the schedule to reflect its new status.
