Both the Master Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and a job's Cost Breakdown Structure provide you with the ability to import from US Cost. This import provides you with the ability to update existing cost items, crews, and resources in the Master CBS Register or the job’s CBS Register from a US Cost estimate. Specifically, this import from US Cost provides a means for you to import and update cost item data and its associated resource employments from a US Cost estimate according to how the data in the US Cost estimate is mapped to Estimate fields. This document provides guidance and requirements for the settings in the Estimate job file, the Cloud Platform and Control product to successfully publish data to Cloud Platform and Control. Details are included for both the Publish to a New Project and Publish to an Active Project (Selective Import) processes. It is important to note that some settings will produce an error on import if improperly configured and others may result in a partial import. Validation of the imported data in Cloud Platform and Control is always recommended prior to budget lock or setting the project as active in Control.
