Update Schedule Impact on Issue
Use Case
The superintendent estimates the schedule impact for the issue based on information received so far from the client and notifies the scheduler.
On the issue record in InEight Change, you can detail the issue’s impact on the schedule. The system can then notify the scheduler automatically, and the scheduler can make note of the issue in the risk register in InEight Schedule.
Update Schedule Impact in InEight Change
When a change is requested or proposed in a project, it can have ripple effects on various tasks, activities, and milestones. These changes may involve altering the sequence of tasks, adjusting resource allocation, or revising the duration of certain activities. The schedule impact is the assessment of how these changes will influence the project's overall timeline.
The following steps walk through how to update the issue with schedule impact information:
Step 1
Open an existing issue, and in the Schedule Impact section, update if work has started and if it impacts the schedule.
Notify Scheduler of Issues
This notification in InEight Change is designed to alert relevant roles or individuals about potential issues that could impact the project schedule. The notification can be configured to trigger specific days, times, and occurrences. When the "YES" option is chosen, the Scheduler will receive an alert indicating an issue. The configured setup ensures that the receiver will receive the notification every day as specified.
The following steps identify how to set up scheduler notifications, at the user or role level, so they receive a daily email notification anytime there’s a schedule impact.
Step 2
Click on the Notify scheduler of issues tab, and toggle on the switch to send notification email to recipients when there are schedule impact changes.
Add Issue to Risk Register in InEight Schedule
Once the scheduler is notified of an issue, he or she can add it to the Risk Register in InEight Schedule so the Scheduling team can keep tabs on it as well.
