Claim Subcontractor Quantities and Hours

Find the best way for your organization to capture quantities and hours from your subcontractors.

The following video walks you through how to set up a vendor so they can be tracked through multiple applications:

Depending on your needs, schedule of value items can be claimed in InEight Contract, InEight Plan, or InEight Progress.

OPTION 1: SOV items can be claimed directly in InEight Contract.  This is a good option for non-work items, such as bond payments or mobilization costs.  Visit Claim schedule items from Contract in the Knowledge Library to learn more.

OPTION 2: SOV items can be sent to InEight Plan as contract components.  Quantities for these components can then be claimed directly in Plan.  This can be a more efficient option if you’re working with summary-level quantities, and you don’t need to track items in the field.  Watch the video Claiming Quantities for more details.

OPTION 3: From InEight Progress, you can claim quantities for SOV items and send that information back to the contract level for tracking.  You can also claim manhours on employee time cards and share that information with your payroll system.  This is the best option when you are tracking work closely in the field.

To get started with claiming in Progress, first decide who will be tracking this information in the field: the subcontractor or a member of your team.

Subcontractor Tracking: When you assign a vendor to a daily plan, the subcontractor will only see the cost items, operational resources, and components that are assigned to them.

The subcontractor can then use InEight Progress to track time and quantities on their daily plans, just like self-performing users.

Internal Tracking:If someone within your organization, such as a subcontractor administrator, inputs vendor hours, the tracking process will generally be the same.  The key difference is that this team member will be able to view all tasks and resources associated with the project, not just those assigned to the vendor.

Comprehensive Reporting

Review vendor hours alongside self-perform work in InEight Report. The Daily Plan Review report shows a detailed view of job site activities and can be easily shared with clients and owners.
