Build Out the Schedule

Use InEight Schedule to bring in vendor info and gather their input as your project progresses.

As your team prepares to start work, your scheduler needs to gather activity lists and resources from the vendor and incorporate those details into the overall project schedule.  Choose the best option for your needs:

Option 1: Subcontractor adds details directly in InEight Schedule.

  1. Set up the CPM with preliminary details.

  2. Grant the subcontractor Scheduler access to the Plan view in InEight Schedule.

  3. Now your subcontractor can add activities, sequencing, and resources directly into Plan view.

Option 2: Scheduler imports subcontractor schedule into InEight Schedule.

  1. Set up the CPM with preliminary details.

  2. Export the plan to Excel (Export > Excel Export).

  3. Add activities, logic, and resources to the Excel file.

You can share the Excel file with the subcontractor to edit directly, or gather details from the subcontractor, and the scheduler adds it to the Excel file.

  4. Import the file (Import > Select file > Import).

Once the activities and resources are loaded into the schedule, you can add the subcontractors as contributors with markup permissions.  This will allow your vendors to share input on durations, logic, and the overall setup of the schedule.
