Subcontractor Collaboration in InEight Document
You can use InEight Document to manage project information in tandem with the Compliance/ Completions modules, with each product focusing on different types of correspondence.
For example, you may use InEight Document for managing project specs, RFIs, and submittals during the design and construction process.
Setting up Forms
The Forms module within InEight Document allows you to set up a variety of form types (e.g., Client RFI, Subcontractor RFI) that you can assign different access to depending on the party. This avoids sending the wrong form to the wrong party, so your subcontractor doesn’t accidentally send an RFI to your client, for example.
Access the following content to learn form setup essentials:
Initiating a Form
Depending on the form and if you’ve given subcontractor access, either you or the subcontractor can initiate a new form from the list of form types you’ve set up. For example, one of your subcontractors can create a new form for a Request for Information (RFI).
Participating in a Form
Once initiated, participants will receive notifications to review the form, following the order defined in the form’s workflow. For example, when your sub initiates the RFI you, as the contractor, receive a notification to review what your sub submitted.

Managing Mail Correspondence
InEight Document contains a Mail module for managing all email correspondence related to a project. You can use this module to store and manage all emails to and from your subcontractors.
For basics on using the Mail module, access this guide:
For subcontractors that don’t have access to InEight Document, you can still issue submittals and other correspondence via email and then process any attachments they provide as documents within InEight Document.
