Desktop Release Notes

  • Configure option for elements integration with InEight Plan – A new Configure option has been added to Actions > Elements to map model metadata to the component metadata fields that integrate with Plan. ClosedRead more

When you create a DTO and set Action to Element, you can now use the Configure option to map the metadata shown in the Configure panel, and sync with Plan’s Quantity tracking module. You can sync items such as claiming schemes, UoMs, and the sum quantities of area, length, and volumes.

After you run the selected DTO and save it, the data is published to Plan.

Previously, you had to use a Microsoft Excel sheet to import Model data to Plan. For more information, see the component automation topics in Elements.

  • Component types added to DTOs – In Actions > Elements > Component Type, activity and aggregate types have been added as additional options to configure DTOs that integrate with Plan. This is in addition to the material component type. ClosedRead more

The new component types integrate with Plan's Quantity tracking module as follows:

  • Activity - Integrates with Activity components.

  • Aggregate - Integrates with Assembly components.

  • Object Properties deprecation - As part of our ongoing efforts to improve our services, we will deprecate Object Properties on Model desktop and Model mobile in Q3 2025. This decision was made to enhance performance and user experience. ClosedRead more

All the functionality in Object Properties will be collapsed into the existing Tags feature set. This will streamline model object and data attribution. Removing this confusing delineation allows for model data to be represented as one holistic approach to model data. We're excited to introduce a revamped Tags feature, which will offer improved functionality, a more intuitive interface, and added capabilities to better meet your needs.

What this means for you:

  • Seamless transition - We are working to ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible.

  • Support - The InEight support team will be available to assist you during this transition, with detailed guides and resources available on the learn.ineight website.

  • Customer data - All data associated with Object Properties will be safely migrated to Tags where applicable.

Desktop Release Notes

  • Model and InEight Estimate DTO integration– You can now sum DTO object quantities and sync with Estimate at the parent level. Previously, you could only sum object quantities at the child level. ClosedRead more

    To sum object quantities at the parent level in Estimate, select a parent CBS item, define applicable UDF fields 12 through 15 by entering your information, and then select Send Selected CBS to Model.

    In Model’s DTO panel, you can select the parent level DTO, sum its quantities in the Actions tab, and then run the selected DTO to create the quantities. In Estimate, select Sync Model Quantities, and then select the quantities to push them to Estimate. For more information about summing quantities at the parent level, see the new Summing quantities using a parent cost item section in Model and Estimate integration using the Model Connector.

  • InEight Estimate user defined field integration with Model – When you send CBS items from Estimate to Model, you can now use the User Defined 11 field as a UoM tag in all levels of the CBS structure and integrate with the Quantity Type Tag name in the DTO’s Action tab in Model. You do not have to select the UoM drop-down list to select from it. ClosedRead more

    In the User Defined 11 field in Estimate, type a valid Model tag name you can use for summing quantities in Model, and then select Send Selected CBS to Model.

    In Model > DTO > Actions > Quantity Type, it shows the tag name from the User Defined 11 field in Estimate. For more information about user-defined fields, see the new User-Defined Fields topic.

Mobile Release Notes

  • AWP component claiming integration with InEight Plan – You can now perform component claiming for AWP and then sync changes with Plan. ClosedRead more

    When you perform claiming in the AWP panel, all updates are saved to your Project Updates queue. When you sync the changes, the updates for claiming now sync with Plan. You must perform a sync in Model to sync your claiming updates to Plan.

    You can perform bulk and individual claiming at the CWP and IWP level.

    You can also perform partial and full claiming by tapping individual steps and entering the install quantity or select Yes in the Is Complete field:

  • Manage tags from the Tags panel – You can now create new tags using the Add new tag icon and manage existing tags in the Tags panel. ClosedRead more

    In the Tags panel, you can now add new tags using the Add new tag icon, add tag values, update and remove tag value associations.

    Create new tags

    To create a new tag, tap the Add new tag icon, enter the new tag information, and then tap Ok.

    Add or update tag values

    You can add or update tag values by swiping right on a tag, and then tap Select. Choose a tag value from the list or tap the Add tag value icon, and then entera new tag value.

    Remove tag values

    You can remove associated tag values by swiping left on a tag, and then tapping Remove.

Microsoft Excel Plug-in Release Notes

  • InEight Visual Report tab - InEight Schd Inspector tab has been renamed to InEight Visual Report to match the function of the tab.

  • Show Complete option – A Show Complete option has been added to the Define Colours section in InEight Visual Report > Interrogator Settings to show the cumulative view of completed items for the set period in Auto Increment Settings. ClosedRead more

    When you select the Show Complete option and Auto Increment is set to On, you can view a cumulative view of completed items for the set date range. As you increase the date range, completed items also increase for those dates to give you a snapshot for future dates in the Excel Plug-in.

    You can also select Auto Increment to show the completed items in Model.

  • Component claiming integration with InEight Plan – You can now perform component claiming and sync changes with Plan. ClosedRead more

    You can perform claiming in the Elements and AWP panels Claiming tab. When you save the claiming updates, a Save Changes dialog box shows with the pending updates. Click Save to sync the changes with Plan. Previously, component claiming performed in Model did not sync with Plan.

    Model creates tags for total surface area and total volume when you import. You can use the tags to perform various workflows such as DTOs, quantity take-offs, and sync with your estimate.

    When the AWP is enabled in the project, Model creates default style sets for Element Progress and CWPs, IWPs percent complete. The default style sets are enabled in the Styling panel for Work Package Progress and Element Progress style sets.

    The default styles are read-only and have pre-defined progress indicators that cannot be edited.

Microsoft Excel Plug-in Release Notes

  • New tab for visual reporting data in Microsoft Excel plug-in – The InEight Schd Inspector tab has been added to show all the visual reporting data from the existing InEight tab and includes additional functions that you can use to build visual reporting data. ClosedRead more

    After you set the ID tag, you can now perform the following:

    • Schedule Start Date and Schedule Finish Date - Add schedule start and finish dates.

    • Settings - Use Settings to open the Interrogator Settings to set scheduled functions that includes define colors, change date settings, configure auto increment settings.

    • Date Increment – Configure the increments in days, weeks, or months to view date ranges and track scheduled items.

    • Show in Model - You can view your IWP selection in Model by clicking the Show in Model button.

    • Auto Increment – When On Auto Increment is selected in settings, and you click the Auto Increment button, a style set is created for every increment amount selected. You can select each style set scheduled increment and view in the model.

Desktop Release Notes

  • Issue manager Feed tab search – The search is no longer case sensitive to broaden your search results. For more information about managing issues, see Create and Manage Coordination Issues.

  • Zoom to mouse cursor option – The mouse cursor must now be inside the model geometry to use the zoom-to-cursor option. Previously, zoom-to-cursor was available when the mouse cursor was outside the model geometry, which caused it to zoom away to a blank space. For more information, see Navigation controls in Navigation.

  • Clash Manager Measurements option – You can now use measurements in clashes to provide measurement adjustments in clashes when needed. ClosedRead more

    Previously, the Measurements option was disabled in clashes. Now the Measurements option is available after entering clash isolation mode within Clash Manager.

  • Issue Manager filter – To improve application performance, you can now set your filter criteria, and then click Apply to get your results. Previously, it was a live filter that provided dynamic results when selecting your criteria. ClosedRead more

    In the filter section of Issue Manager, you can set your filter criteria, and then click Apply to get your results.

    The count for open and closed issues based on your filter criteria is also shown at the bottom of the panel. For more information about managing issues, see topics in Coordination - Issue Manager.

  • Box sectioning behavior – In View > Sectioning, when you set section boxes in your model, and then move them to shrink the model in any direction, the boxes planes no longer move through the opposite plane extremity and inverting. Previously, the boxes inverted and caused you to be in an unstable state in the model. ClosedRead more

    For example, using negative values for LEFT to shrink the section box further to the right does not go past the last section line to prevent from inverting itself and moving the box to an unstable state.

Mobile Release Notes

  • Selection Information panel organization – The Selection Information panel has been split into three tabs to organize object data and make it easily accessible in the field. Previously, all the information was shown on one panel. ClosedRead more

    You can now choose from the following tabs:

    Properties – Shows the model object properties such as Constraints, Construction, and Dimensions.

    Tags – Shows any tags associated with the model object.

    Related – Shows any related information associated with the model object such as associated elements, issues, checklists, and documents.

  • Selection Display Style option - The Selection Display Style option in the Model desktop application is now available in Model mobile. ClosedRead more

    In Settings > Selection Color, you can select the way your model object selection is highlighted. This is to provide a better visual experience when viewing model objects. In the Stroke section, you can select the color and size of the outline. In the Fill section, you can select the color that fills the selected model object.

  • Model performance - Performance enhancements that speed up Model processes have been completed.

  • Model mobile – InEight Model now offers an iOS mobile device companion to its desktop application, where you can support the entire project lifecycle in the office or the work site. ClosedRead more

    The Model mobile application gives you access to your model and model data to view and interact from a mobile device.The application is available to download from the Apple App Store.

    When you open the Model mobile application, a log in window is shown:

    After you log in, a list of the projects you have permissions to is shown:

    Select a project to open the project’s module landing page, which shows items such as Model, Issues, and Archive. The Model module is the default module when opened.

    Model geometry will begin to load when an internet connection is active. A loading progress box shows colors from green, cyan, yellow, red, and then green again. Geometry loading is prioritized by the view frustum (the model in the active view window). You can navigate to specific sections of the model to prioritize the loading of those sections.

    You can switch modules by selecting the Main menu, and then selecting the available project modules.

    Some features are not fully functional until the entire tag library is delivered to your device. A banner shows at the top of the screen to communicate this state.

    Features of Model mobile include the following:

    • Offline Data - You can download model data to your local device and use Model offline where internet access is not available. Select the main menu > Offline Data > Master Presets to specify which data to download for offline mode.

      After selecting Offline Data, you can choose what data is downloaded for offline mode using the Master Presets. You can choose individual master presets or collections of presets for offline mode. The download status is shown next to the master preset.

    • Navigation – You can navigate Model mobile by using the iOS one and two finger gestures such as tap, scroll, select, orbit, pan, pinch open and pinch closed objects or models.

    • Left ribbon menu - Standard Model functions are shown below:

        Menu item Description
      1 Home Applies the default project master preset.
      2 Zoom Selected Zooms the camera to frame the selection.
      3 Isolate Toggles between the entire model and an isolated view of the selected objects.
      4 First-Person Navigation Toggles first-person navigation.
      5 Ortho/Perspective Toggle between ortho and perspective view modes.
      6 Grids Toggles grid visibility on/off.
      7 Selection Mode

      Lets you select objects related to the active mode.

      • Elements – Select objects that belong to the Element associated with the object being selected.

      • Tags - Select objects that belong to the tag associated with the object being selected.

      • Parent – Select all objects belonging to the highest level.

      • Object – Select the lowest level of an object.

    • Right navigation menu – The right navigation menu includes the following functions:

        Menu item Description
      1 Master Presets Navigate between master presets defined in Model desktop.
      2 Streams Turn visibility on or off for model streams and groups.
      3 Tags Navigate tag names and values and select associated model objects.
      4 Elements Navigate elements and select associated model objects.
      5 Style Sets Switch style sets to change how they visualize the model.
      6 Selection Info View attribute data of actively selected model objects.

    You can use DTOs in Model to sum object quantities and sync quantities with Estimate in the cloud.

    The Model integration icons are in Estimate’s main ribbon under More Actions > Model Connector section.

    • Select in Model – Select a cost item and its linked Model objects are then selected within Model.

    • Frame Selected – Select a cost item, and its linked Model objects are then framed within the Model viewer.

    • Sync Model Quantities – Quantities summed via DTO execution can be synced to Estimate in the cloud.

    • Send Selected CBS to Model – Sync CBS structure from Estimate in the cloud to Model.

  • Issue manager enhancements – You can now double-click an issue on the Issue Manager panel to open and edit the issue. New fields for title and description and a Feed section have also been added. ClosedRead more

    • Title and Description fields have been added to the issue details panel.

      The title is now a new column in the Issue Manager grid.

    • The Feed section has been added to the issue details panel, which lets you add comments regarding the issue all the way through the issue resolution. This lets you have correspondence within the Model application to streamline communication.

    • In Clashes, improvements have been made to easily navigate through the panel.

  • New Model installations default cache path – The default cache location for any new installations is now %localappdata%/InEight/Model/Cache. Existing installations that have their cache location path in My Documents or user Documents directories will be moved to the new default location. Other existing cache locations will not be moved. Switching to the new default path is highly recommended. For more information, see Model cache

  • Default graphic card – Default graphics configuration on Windows devices that contain multiple GPUs (integrated and dedicated) now auto-assign the Integrated Graphics to the Model.exe task when the application is started.

  • Update thumbnail - Previously, when an issue was created, a permanent thumbnail was created. You can now update the thumbnail using the Update Thumbnail button.

  • Custom fields - New custom fields have been added that can contain free text, due dates, and more.

  • Combo search within fields - Fields have been updated so that you can now perform a combo search. You can use the drop-down option search values, or you can type within the field to filter your search.

  • Field name changes - To track issues more accurately, the Resolved by, Resolution Date, and the Status fields have been updated. The Resolved by field has been changed to let you select a Closed status value, the Resolution Date field has changed to let you select a Resolved by value, and the status of Closed in the Status field has been removed.

  • Clash panel – New enhancements have been made to the Clash panel for a better user experience. ClosedRead more

  • Status and view values - The Status and View values of a clash have been updated and are now aligned. When the status is active, the view will be available. When the status is resolved or ignored, the view will not be available. You can change the status to active to view the clashes.

  • Combo search within fields - The fields have been updated so that you can now perform a combo search. You can use the drop-down option search values, or you can type within the field to filter your search.

  • Model UI - The UI for model has been updated in the backend to enhance the user experience.

  • Required UI update – An update to the UI required a reset of the custom mouse and keyboard mappings back to default. A notification message shows when you launch Model after you upgrade. ClosedRead more

Excel Plugin Release Notes

In this release, no features were added but technical improvements were made in the background to enhance your experience in Excel Plugin.

  • Coordination panel enhancement – The coordination panel has been updated and is now split into two stand-alone panels, Clash Manager, and Issue Manager. ClosedRead more

    The Clash Manager lets you create flexible rules to detect geometric clashes between model objects. The Issue Manager lets you group and manage the geometric clashes and associated information through resolution. You can go to Clash manager and Issue manager by clicking the Logic menu.

    • Clash manager - The Clash Manager panel has been updated with additional features and has an updated user interface that lets you better define, manage, and organize clash rules. ClosedRead more

      • Rule Tab - In the Rules tab, the rules and groups now show side-by-side. In the Groups window, you can organize your rules in groups. You can use the quick action icons at the top of the panel to perform the most common rule and group clash functions. You can add rules and groups; run rules and groups; edit rules; export, import, and duplicate rules; and delete rules or groups.

        Rules and rule groups are listed alphabetically.

        When you create, select, or edit a rule, the Rule definition slide-out panel shows at the bottom of the pane. You can use the expand icon at the top right of the slide-out to show or hide the panel. The rule definition slide-out is no longer a modal. When creating or editing a rule, you are no longer locked in the rule definitions slide-out panel and unable to access the model project items. You can now interact with your model project when editing or creating a new rule.

        Enhancements have been made to the Rule Definition slide-out panel. The tolerance settings have been updated to allow for 7-digit precision and a 4-digit scale. For example, you can enter numbers such as 333.3333.

        Tolerance setting offerings will support Expand (expands geometry in all directions), Sphere (establishes a spherical clash tolerance), and Cylinder (establishes a cylindrical clash tolerance). Scale and Bounding Box are no longer supported.

        You can add rules to groups by dragging them into the group folder, or by selecting the rule and clicking the Add to Group button.

      • Results tab - In the Results tab, the clash results are automatically grouped by their primary object, the primary tag defined in the rule. This grouping speeds up the process of identifying object issues. You can use the quick action icons at the top of the panel to perform results related tasks.

        You can now view clashes and other tag-related information associated with the clashes. The Select Tag Name drop-down has been added to view an additional tag value. You can view the primary object, number of clashes, and other tag data. This lets you better manage and prioritize clashes based on various tag values.

    • Issue manager - The Issue Manager panel has been updated with additional features and has an updated user interface and data that lets you better manage from the creation to the closeout of project issues. ClosedRead more

      You can use the quick action icons at the top of the panel to perform the most common rule and group clash functions.

      You can add issues and groups, edit issues, export, import, update issue status, and delete issues and groups.

      • Issue list - The issue list has been consolidated to provide a quick overview of the issues, issue assignee, and issue status. All other information related to the issue can be viewed in the details tab. A count of total open issues is maintained at the bottom right corner, to provide a quick overview of open issues within the project.

      • Details tab - All relevant information pertaining to the issue is stored in the details tab. From the details tab, you can now edit thumbnails (screenshot associated with the issue).

         

        You can now set a 3D pin associated with an issue. 3D Pinning lets you associate an issue with relevant 3D geometry. You can select Go To Pin to move your view window to the pin location.

        Relevant metadata associated with issues can be viewed and modified in the tab. These sections are collapsible so that you can manage what information is shown, ensuring that the most relevant information is always present.

        In the details panel, you can view summaries of the clash, views, and attachment information. These summaries can be expanded into an additional information tab that lets you further investigate those items.

      • Additional information tab - You can review issue details in the additional information tab. In some sections, when you click the Expand right arrow icon, you will navigate to the Additional information tab.

        In the Additional information tab, you can view relevant clash information associated with the issue. You can also navigate to these clashes, turn on or off visibility of individual clashes, and update the clash status to ignore, and remove clashes if needed.

  • Element Claiming Tab– In the Elements panel, a new Claiming tab has been added that synchronizes claiming schemes from InEight Plan with Model. ClosedRead more

    The new Claiming tab integrates with InEight Plan and allows Model to show geometry with the associated claiming schemes.

    The Claiming tab has been added to view specific claiming item details for a component that makes up the percent complete. The details are pulled from Plans’ activity component in Claiming.

    Any component claiming updates made in Plan sync with Model in real time. A You have project updates notification shows in the Project Updates panel.

  • Model Performance – Performance enhancements that speed up Model processes have been completed. Model projects that have not been updated locally for some time will experience faster performance when launching and updating their models.

The Edit Element window now supports picklist type fields. Fields with predefined picklist can now be used during element metadata editing. An example of a picklist is shown below in the Description field.

The Edit Element UI has also been enhanced to show larger text strings, and larger sets of metadata.

  • Object face measurement –You now can get area measurements from the face of an object. ClosedRead more

In the Measurements window Object Snaps section, the Face option has been added to Object Snaps to work with the Area measurement type. This feature lets you select the face of an object and get the calculated area measurements.

  • Manage tag association – You can now remove tag associations from objects in the Selection Information window. ClosedRead more

In the Selection Information window Tags tab, you can remove existing tags using the right-click context menu, to disassociate the tag or tags from the object.

Select an object, and then right-click on a Tag Name in the Selection Information panel. Select Remove Tag from Selected Objects.

  • DTO (Data Transformation Operations) Sequential Tagging – DTO sequential tags option lets you apply system-generated sequential tags to object geometry. ClosedRead more

    You can now use system-generated structured tags in combination with sequencing to apply unique tagging data to object geometry. You can apply repeatable tagging to geometry to supplement design data.

    In the DTO Actions window, Sequential Tags is now an option in the menu drop-down.

    When you use sequential tags, you can use tag data, object properties, and constant text strings to add structured data to the sequential tag data.

  • Element Editing – You can now edit element metadata in the Elements panel. ClosedRead more.

    Administrators can now edit element static and extension data in the Elements window. You can supplement the element metadata with Model-centric or Model-derived metadata.

    In the Elements window, click Edit Element in the drop-down menu.

    The Edit Elements window opens where you can browse the associated element data.

  • Model to InEight Estimate integration has been enhanced – The integration between Model and Estimate has been enhanced to better align the dynamic nature of creating and modifying the estimate structure. This provides a deeper integration with the Estimate CBS (Cost Breakdown Structure).

  • Tag inheritance and tag performance has been improved – The tag inheritance and tag assignment process has been streamlined. This provides a better experience and aligns with user expectations. Tagging items from the Tag window, the DTO panel, or the objects panels for both parent and child objects has been unified across the platform. Similar changes have been made across the Tag view in the selection information. Additionally, the tag assignment speeds have been improved.

  • Navisworks export grids – You can now export grid lines from Navisworks projects. If grids are part of the Navisworks project, they can be included in the export process and enable or disable grids when you export.

  • Tag alias name enhancements – You can now apply tag alias names to tag names and property names. When you apply a tag alias name, it applies to both tags and object properties. When you use tag alias names, you can easily achieve consistency when pulling geometry and metadata from files authored by various organizations that use different values for the same data.

    The duplicate geometry check feature is part of the Coordination and Clash Management toolset. The feature provides reporting that lets you remove duplicate object geometry from the authoring environment.

    Go to Logic > Show Duplicate Objects.

    When you select Show Duplicate Objects, a new window opens that shows duplicate objects grouped and provides the source file information so you can remove the duplicated geometry at the source.

    You can export and view the data in an Excel file. Click the Export icon on the bottom right to start the export.

    The default export file type is .csv.

    The functionality in the Styling Panel for the default styles associated with Advance Work Packaging (AWP) and Elements was improved. Work Package and Elements progress default styles sets now function with Master Presets. The style sets also update dynamically as geometry associations to work packages and elements are published to the project.

    • Component default style Sets - The Element progress style sets have been expanded to create stand-alone styles sets per Component type (activity, assembly, contract, and material). By default, you can see visual status at a more granular level.

  • Styling legend – A new Styling Legend option provides visibility into the color definitions applied to the geometry. ClosedRead more

    The Style Legend feature shows the definition of the colors applied to the geometry. The data was previously hidden, but is now visible, so you can easily communicate the information to all project stakeholders.

    The Styling legend is in View > Style Legend.

    When you select Style Legend, the Style Legend window opens and shows the active style, style set, style name, tag name, and tag value associations that are included in the selected style set. The window automatically refreshes after you make a change to the active style set.

  • Measurements enhancements – In Measurement mode, interactions with geometry have been improved when performing and collecting measurements. ClosedRead more

    Multiple enhancements have been made in the Measurements window when interacting with the Viewer during an active measurement mode.

    • Interacting with translucent objects - You can now select or deselect the Ignore Translucent objects option during measurement mode. When you select the Ignore Translucent checkbox, Model ignores translucent objects in the view window. This lets you indicate whether translucent objects, such as room, operation, or maintenance volumes, are included in the model project.

    • Interacting with sectioned objects - The measurements tool ignores the parts of geometry that are hidden by the section planes and only snaps to parts of the geometry that are still visible to you.

    • Rendering for highlighted faces or objects - Previously, when you were in Measurement mode and attempted to measure faces or objects, the forefront highlighted other visible objects, covering the objects. Now, the forefront highlight does not cover the objects and you can see the entire area when you conduct measurements.

      In this example of the Measure Mode set to Face (Active), the floor of the room is highlighted with the new update. The new update lets you see the entire area when you conduct measurements.

  • Data transformation operations units list updates and UOM improvements – Units have been expanded and UOMs updated to provide a better user experience. ClosedRead more

    • DTO unit list has been expanded - The list of Units has been expanded to align with InEight Estimate’s units of measure. When you import an Estimate cost item, Model now shows additional matching units of measure. The list shows in the DTO Actions window, in the Quantity Action Type.

Model also reflects any updates to the CBS, such as numbers and descriptions on subsequent pushes from Estimate.

    The default style sets are enabled in the Styling panel for Work Package Progress and Element Progress style sets. When the AWP is enabled in the project, Model creates default style sets for CWPs, IWPs, and Element Progress Percent Complete.

    The default styles are read-only and have pre-defined progress indicators that cannot be edited.

  • Remove projects from cache - You now can remove projects from your computer’s cache. ClosedRead more

You now can free up disk space by using the Remove Project From Cache option. When you finish working on a project, remove the project from your cache in the Load Model Project > Load Project tab. Right-click on a project from the list, and then select Remove Project from Cache to remove the projects cache.

  • Element nested extension table integration – Nested extension tables are now supported in the Elements Detail Panel. All extension data will now be in the Element details panel for projects configured with nested extensions.

The Tag Data Exporter form has been redesigned to include the following functionality:

  • The form now defaults to a new configuration when opened.

  • You can now pivot not only on a Tag Name but also on Tag Values.

  • The Include Objects column is now a toggle.

  • You can now import and export your saved configurations.

  • The export file now opens automatically in Microsoft Excel.

Prior to this release, you could only select the entire Tag category and move to the Identifier/Pivot tag field. Now, you can narrow down your selection (subsets of data) further before exporting to Excel, reducing the need to bring over large sets of data. You can include the tag name (category) or tag value (individual tags) to include everything or filter out a subset of data.

The Include Objects Column check box lets you include the Objects count column in an exported spreadsheet report.

The Import and Export Configuration buttons let you import and export your saved configurations.

After the export is executed with the saved configurations, the export file opens automatically providing you with immediate access to the report.

    An update has been made to the UAM to include a new SSO column in UAM for login type indicator (only editable by services).

    When creating a new user, the SSO toggle lets you choose between creating an SSO user, or as a user that signs in via user name and password. The default setting is SSO On and it cannot be changed in edit mode.

    In the Logic > Coordination panel, you can perform clash detections.

    For example, if you need to create a clash between piping and civil, you can structure your model with specific rules or rule groups in the Coordination panel that allows for that type of clash. Then, if you want to use that same tag structure only in a different project, you can export those coordination rules from the Coordination panel to use as a template for the rules in the new job.

  • Element and Dynamic attachments – You can now quickly navigate through the hierarchy of Elements in the Elements panel. ClosedRead more

    The Elements panel now has a tree view where you can view the project structure and filter your Elements list to show all relevant Elements associated with the tree structure.     When you select the DTO panel, you can right-click a DTO file tree and select either Export Selected or Export All. That DTO file then exports the entire DTO file tree structure. Then, the DTO file can be imported into another project.

    If you have a larger job file and need to find an AWP item quickly, you can now search for the item you are looking for in AWP. You can also filter your data to only show data that is available for a specific set of packages. For example, you can filter for packages that were created from InEight Plan and set the filter to only show Platform. You can also add a filter, clear filters, or delete a filter.

    You can filter through the following:

    • % Complete

    • Description

    • Finish

    • GUID

    • Name

    • Platform

    • Start

    Previously when you received project updates in the AWP space and accept those updates, all packages expanded to their lowest level which made navigation difficult. Now, the view on the AWP panel does not change when you accept project updates. You can also right-click the AWP panel and choose to Expand All or Collapse All.

  • Style Set enhancements – You can now group and organize the styles in the Style Set panel. ClosedRead more

    Previously in the Style Set panel, you would see a flat list of styles with no folder structure or hierarchy. Now, you can add a folder structure to your Style Set panel to easily group and organize your styles.

  • Reporting for Tags and Objects – A new reporting UI lets you create standard reports for Model objects and tags. These reports can then be exported as a CSV file.

  • IFC export support – Model is now able to support IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) file exports. ClosedRead more

    IFC 2x3 files are the only supported file type. IFC files are an open international standard for Building Information Model (BIM) data that are exchanged and shared among software applications used by the various participants in the construction or facility management industry sector.

    The IFC export provides a means for exporting IFC files from Model. IFC export support allows you to export collaborative updates to project team members.

  • Grid support – You are now able to export grids from Revit into Model, which lets you take dimensions from grid lines. ClosedRead more

    You can manually define or create origin, offsets, and labels in Model. You can also import multiple grids in a single project and quickly identify grid intersections.

    You can control grid visibility with the new Grid icon in the notification tray which lets you identify grid lines and grid intersections by hovering over them with the cursor.

    You can also store the grid visibility state in the Master Presets.

  • Coordination improvements – Improvements to the Coordination panel include automatically expanding the coordination issues when running the update issues command. ClosedRead more

    In a model scene with sectioning turned on, running clash detection respects the sectioned view. If a vertex of the clashes intersection points is contained within the section planes, these are presented as valid clash results.

    The coordination improvements also addresses performance-related items when using filters in coordination issues.

  • User experience enhancements – Enhancements to the UI include adding search and filtering capabilities to the Model Stream and the Project Structure dialog box, adjusting the forward and backward walk thresholds, and adding grips to section planes.

  • InEight rebranding – References to VEO and M-SIX have been changed to show the InEight brand. All references to the Viewer have changed to Model.

Admin Tools is a new configuration application for InEight Completions and Model. With every release, more valuable features will be added, with the goal of providing administrators with a complete configurations tool kit.

With this first release, Account Administrators can now independently create new projects by duplicating existing project configurations. As an alternative to the role assignment using the Excel Plugin, Project Administrators can now use Admin Tools to assign specific roles to groups. Review Admin Tools training material for more details.

  • Configuration – You can now assign roles and user accounts using the Admin Tool Configuration function.

    • User Account Management – You can now manage user accounts through the Users & Groups tab and the Project Permissions tab of the User Account Management Configuration page. ClosedRead more

      You can get to User Account Management through either the tile in Configurations or the quick link in the Main menu slide-out panel.

      You must be an account administrator to manage user accounts.

      The User Account Management page is organized into the following tabs:

      • Users & Groups – Manage users and user groups

      • Project Permissions – Assign user groups to projects

      You can set up users to have standard, read-only, or administrator permissions. You must assign a user to a group so they can be given access to a project. A group is a collection of users that lets you assign multiple users to a project at one time. The Users & Groups tab is where you can add, edit, activate, and delete both users and groups.

      Users can only belong to one group per project.

      The Project Permissions tab is organized into two panels. The Groups panel shows groups and their users. The Projects panel shows projects and the users and groups assigned to each project. The Projects panel lets you manage what type of access users and groups have to a project. You can use the buttons in the center of the page to add and remove selected users and groups to and from projects.

      Users and groups assigned to projects can be given either read-only or write access.

      You can export a Microsoft Excel file that shows the users and groups in the project. To export, click Export in the upper right of the page to download the file.

    • Project Roles Assignment – Project Administrators can now add or remove groups from roles in specific projects. ClosedRead more

      Project Roles Assignment settings lets you assign roles for groups or individuals in each project.

      You must be an Account Administrator or have a permission or role to manage group roles. Administrators should know what each role can do from the project setup.

      The Project Roles Assignment page is organized into two panels. The Groups panel lets you manage groups, and the Roles panel lets you manage roles. To assign an individual to a role, search for them in the groups column and highlight their username. Then, select the role you want to assign to the individual user. Use the buttons in the center of the page to add or remove selected groups or individuals to and from roles.

      You can export a Microsoft Excel file that shows the users and group of the project. To export, click Export in the upper right of the page to download the file.

  • Duplicate a project – You can now create a new project by duplicating an existing project and adjusting certain project configuration. ClosedRead more

    Duplicating a Project creates a new Project with the same configuration as the Project being duplicated.

    You must be an account administrator to duplicate a project.

    You can duplicate a project using two different methods. You can select a project, and then click the Duplicate button.

    You can also right-click a project, and then select Duplicate from the drop-down menu.

    If the new project name matches an existing project name, a warning message is shown.

    You can adjust the project configuration for the duplicated project through the Modules and Optional section.

    In the Modules section, turn on the toggle for content from each module, such as templates, that you want to include in this project. By default, all modules’ content is copied. Copied content is only the project structure, not actual data records.

    In the Optional section, turn on or off the toggles for PDF Templates, Email Notifications, Archive Folders, or Locations, as necessary. The Archive Folders toggle is set to off by default.

    After you create a duplicate project, you cannot delete it.

    You can then assign user groups and use Completions HQ and Microsoft Excel to import project-specific data.

  • Main menu slide-out panel – The slide-out panel gives you quick links to administrative functions and other helpful links. ClosedRead more

    To open the slide-out panel, click the main menu icon. The slide-out panel contains the following links:

    • User Account Management – Manage users, user groups, and their access to projects

    • Online Training Portal – Takes you to the Knowledge Library

    • Completions Web – Opens the Completions web interface in your browser

    • Support – Opens an email to InEight Support
